Lake Champlain Bikeways
- Fort Ticonderoga - Guided tours daily in restored 1755 stone
fort. Military museum, fife and drum corps and artillery demonstration. Restaurant &
Picnic Area.
- Lake Champlain is 121 miles long and 12 miles across at its
broadest point offering 585 miles of shoreline and has one of the nations largest
freshwater beaches. Enjoy sailing, boating, canoeing, fishing, swimming, and wind surfing
on the waters. Sandy beaches, rocky bluffs & picturesque settings are there for your
enjoyment.
- Fishing: As deep as 400 ft. in some places and home to over 60
species of fish including walleye pike and smallmouth bass, anglers can indulge in
year-round fishing on one of the greatest freshwater fishing locations in the country.
- Enjoy hiking, bicycling, bird watching, or strolling along the
shore.
Historic sites along Lake
Champlain date back before the American revolution.
- Crown Point
- Carefully preserved ruins of
French Fort St. Frederic (1734) and British Fort Crown Point, which controlled Lake
Champlain for over half a century. Exhibits and program explaining military and social
history of the area in the 18th century.
